Robert Atwan’s ‘Convergences’

The Grocery List Collection made it into the third edition of Robert Atwan’s Convergences. It’s a book filled with themes, texts and images for composition, meaning it’s a textbook and inspiration library to help writers grow. Over the years a lot of people have written me to say they use the lists in their classes as the basis for short stories. Pick a list then write the backstory. Interesting, and a bit like what I did with the “Milk Eggs Vodka” promo site.

Anyway, Convergences features The New York Times Magazine essay Amanda Hesser wrote about me and the collection back in 2004.
