Undensed book #1: His Name Was Gentle

I took an old Reader's Digest Condensed Book and cut up the 1965 story "May You Die In Ireland" by Michael Kenyon. I pasted some lines back together so the sentences were roughly grammatically correct, though nonsensical.

The new, even more condensed version is called "His Name Was Gentle." Only three chapters!
