BASICS: DEPTH OF FIELD
Wikipedia: Depth of field is the distance in front of and beyond the subject that appears to be in focus. There is only one distance at which a subject is precisely in focus, and focus falls off gradually on either side of that distance.
- Shallow: Good for helping people focus on a certain part of the photo
- Deep: Good for showing large areas of view
