With
all of those promises to love, honor and cherish, you would think
we would be all vowed-out. But no dear friends, we have one more vow
to keep to throw the swingingest wedding reception of the season.
Expect lots of booze, a tapas dinner from our favorite chef Blake
Brokaw, great speeches, multiple cakes and the Tony
Viviano Orchestra. The party begins at 5 p.m. and goes until 10
p.m. on Saturday, the seventeenth of June, 2000 at the World's Fair
Pavalion.
Here are some
directions.
The Worlds
Fair Pavilion is one of the most beautiful structures in one of
the most beautiful parks. You can see it on the front of our reception
invitations. The Pavilion was built in 1910 as a thank to the St.
Louisans who hosted the 1904 Worlds Fair. Originally, the
pavilion served as a shelter and refreshment stand. Later, young
people gathered there for concerts. Forest Park just renovated the
Pavilion in 1999.
Forest
Park itself 124 years old. Residents initially objected to the
parks location, decring it as inaccessible. Ultimately though
they approved a bond issue to buy 1374 acres of forest for $850,000.
The park is now home to the St. Louis Art Museum, the Jewel Box,
the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Science, the St. Louis
Zoo as well as a golf course, a biking and jogging path and dozens
of lakes where visitors can fish and rent paddleboats. Thanks to
the generosity of St. Louis and St. Louis County property taxpayers,
all of the parks major institutions are free. If you are visiting
from out of town, make sure to visit. Heres a list of things to do in St. Louis.
Here are some photos from the party (many are from from crappy disposable cameras shot by guests, except for several nice ones shot by Adam).
