NSM|09 #41 Turkey, spinach & brie

Day 31 | Ending on a semi-healthy note after a month of heavy sandwich goodness. This is a turkey, spinach and brie panini from Schlafly Bottleworks. Very good, and enjoyed with a hard cider on a nice 70ºF August day in St. Louis.

Well, that’s that for this year. The end. Thanks for following along. Blog posts will resume after a little recovery time.

Here’s the whole month’s worth of sandwiches on Flickr.

Day 30 | A Bosnian cevapi at the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park. I love this bread.

Also called the International Festival, every year vendors from countries all over the world gather to sell great food and we always check it out.

NSM|09 #39 The sardiney beany sandwich

Day 29 | After being thwarted by terrible customer service at the meat counter, I decided to just go home and make up a sandwich with whatever we had.

This is the result: Sardines, Lupini beans, pickles and horseradish on toast.

It was good (I was also very hungry).

NSM|09 #38 Lamb shank sandwich

Day 28 | This was one helluva good lamb shank sandwich by Diane: Roasted onions & peppers, mint yogurt sauce, toasty bread — with roasted rosemary potatoes on the side.

Even better, I ate it while watching "Airplane!"

Day 27 | I ate a Boca for lunch, but I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture.

Day 25 | Super-duper roast beef called the "Stacked Philly." Focaccia bread, plain cream cheese, thinly-sliced roast beef, sea salt, black pepper, oven roasted tomatoes, red onion. Good!

It was eaten on the old Chain of Rocks bridge on a bike ride/picnic with the kids. Fun!

NSM|09 #34 Cobb sandwich

Day 25 | Cobb salad? No, Cobb sandwich! This is the fully-realized v2 of this sandwich: www.flickr.com/photos/bk/3814178131/in/set-72157621916830…

Day 24 | A superb Coney from Fitz’s. This one was especially enjoyable because the bun was toasted and you could pick it up to eat it! Chowed on with a Fitz’s root beer.
