Photos and descriptions of all sandwiches consumed during NSM|2008.

Day 25: Polish sausage

Rode my bike to work and had a Polish sausage from a Nathan’s Famous stand in downtown St. Louis.

Ate it under the Gateway Arch.

Summer in St. Louis.

Day 22: Oops

Today in an emergency situation, I ate three White Castle cheeseburgers but didn’t take a photo.

Day 22: Grilled portabella

Grilled portabella sandwich with scrambled eggs, Swiss and pesto, on rosemary bread.

This was from a new place in midtown called Café Ventana. They also have beignets! Yum.

Day 21: Croque Madame

Roasted ham, caramelized onions, Emmenthaler and Romaine on excellent sourdough. Topped with a fried egg, which I put inside the sandwich before eating.

Got this lovely specimen at Rooster in downtown St. Louis.

Chomp.

Day 19: Waffruitle sandwich

It’s like breakfast AND dessert… for dinner!

Strawberries, peaches and banana on mini-waffles with Marscarpone (enhanced with vanilla and honey by the amazing Diane).

Oh, with bacon and eggs on the side.

Damn!

Day 20: Sesame tofu (VEG201)

Big thanks to Thomas Crone for the conversation and sandwichversation tonight.

This one’s the sesame tofu (VEG201) from The U: Marinated tofu, Napa cabbage, green onions, red peppers, provolone, sesame and orange vinaigrette. Awesome.
