Archive for National Sandwich Month | 2008

Photos and descriptions of all sandwiches consumed during NSM|2008.

Day 31: Cucumber, feta, tzatziki

I tried to do a wild grand finale — thinking maybe a tripe or snoot sandwich would fit the bill — but lots of the BBQ places with those selections are closed on Sundays. C&K was open, but to be honest I didn’t feel like heading north today (I’m a little sluggish after all those sandwiches).

So… cucumber, feta and tzatziki sauce on pita. Light, but filling. Thanks Diane!

I may get one more sandwich in tonight (ice cream sandwich?). If not, I’ll see y’all next NSM!

Feel free to add suggestions for next year on any of my sandwich photos here on Flickr.

And here’s the whole month’s worth of sandwiches on Flickr.

Diane and the kids had the Tom Turkey and that looked great too.

Day 28: Greek meatballs

Diane makes the most awesome Greek meatballs. Put ‘em in a pita? Awesome Greek meatball sandwich.

I don’t really consider anything you can’t pick up a sandwich, but I just felt like a stacked Coney dog from Billie’s Fine Foods in Soulard.

Day 27: Chao tom trung (Bánh mì)

We love Ba Le, a great Vietnamese bakery on Kingshighway. This is the fried egg sandwich.

Loved this. A wonderful, spicy dish from Erato.

Day 25: McDonalds cheeseburgers

Guilty…

Needed a late night snack after bowling. Two cheeseburgers. Fries. Water.

I can count on one hand the number if times I’ve had McDonalds since seeing “Supersize Me.”

Day 25: White Castle (again)

It was banquet night for our bowling league at Saratoga Lanes. Everyone brings something. I brought fried chicken. Someone brought White Castles. Yum. I can’t help it.
