Tail of the Dragon burger / NSM #42

Enjoyed at River’s End Restaurant at NOC.

Topped with pepper-jack cheese, jalapeños, and chili-garlic ranch sauce.

A triple cheeseburger / NSM #04

Got free tickets to the Cardinals/Brewers game and took the kids (thanks McGurk’s and Soulard School!).

The concession stand totally messed up our order so I hacked the kids’ burgers and ended up with and extra patty, and my double became a triple. Baseball!

Surf and turf sliders / NSM #02-03

Day two was two sliders at Lola. The surf and turf app features one beef, cheddar, and carmalized onion slider and one crawfish crabcake slider with cajun aioli and mixed greens.

#46, 47, 48: White Castles, NSM | 2011

A National Sandwich Month / bowling season tradition. This time I had the jalapeno cheese and onion rings.

#45: The G.C.B.L.T. Burger, NSM | 2011

From the Tin Can‘s menu: “We take our Grilled Cheese with its 6 slices of cheese, our BLT with its 4 slices of bacon and toss a 5 oz. burger in the middle. Um, yeah. You know you want one.”

#38: Meatloaf sliders, NSM | 2011

We ordered Rena these delicious meatloaf sliders (topped with green beans) but I snuck one for myself.

#36: Veggie burger, NSM | 2011

Despite the totally crappy iPhone photo, this veggie burger is FREAKING AWESOME.

In STL? Hit the Bleeding Deacon.

#10 & 11 Burger & grilled cheese, NSM | 2011

I almost felt like I was cheating on The Eat-Rite Diner by going here. But, just as the Eat-Rite was a block away from the old XPLANE | Dachis Group office — The White Knight is a block away from the new one.

I doubled up and order a cheeseburger *and* a grilled cheese. Good diner food. I just wish they had pie.

#07: Lola burger, NSM | 2011

This is a big-time delicious Mediterranean-style burger (called the Lola Burger) from Lola in downtown St. Louis.

It’s got lamb, bacon, Feta, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions and olive tapenade.

Those fries are great too — all covered in spices, green onions and shaved cheese.

#03: The “Luther” burger, NSM | 2011

OK.

Well.

Much ado about nothing this is. It’s called the “Luther,” the “World’s Greatest Burger,” etc… Often, you just call 911.

Because it’s a deep-fried Krispy Kreme donut bacon cheeseburger.

Technically. But in reality it’s a pre-prepared, foil-wrapped, thin, unholdable oily thing.

That said, I had to try it while we were at the Gateway Grizzlies independent league baseball game in Sauget, Illinois.
