Carnegie-Mellon’s Hyperion

Thursday, August 23rd, 2001

This Carnegie-Mellon robot, Hyperion, is a sun-synchronous robot. It negotiaties planetary terrain by tracking the movement of the sun. It does this to remain exposed to the sunlight for a maximum, possibly continuous amount of time. Meaning it can explore greater distances and for longer durations of time. No more just poking around the landing site. Pretty nice site too. Hey! I’m back on the blog train.
